Filmmaking
I make things, mostly with Sid Gopinath. Our first feature, UP NORTH, with Karan Brar attached to star and Jordan Horowitz producing, is currently in development. We also sold and developed SHIKAAR, a limited series about a doomed tiger hunt in colonial India, with FX, and directed “FINDING OUR WILD” (produced with REI Co-op), a short documentary about aging in the outdoors that played LAAPFF, Hollyshorts, LA Shorts, AmDocs, and more. Most recently, we spent 2023 learning from the best TV writers in the business as Staff Writers on the show WE WERE LIARS for UTV & Amazon.
I’m also developing an adaptation of my stage play LA TORMENTA with Ana Luz Zambrana.

In the latest REI Co-op Studios short documentary film "Finding Our Wild," co-directed by Sid Gopinath and Aditya Joshi, Sid and his father embark on a weeklong camping trip to explore Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Rocky Mountain National Parks. Along the way, they talk about Prabha’s immigration experience, how memories are made (and forgotten) over the course of a lifetime, and what it means to watch each other grow older. We get a glimpse into their home movies and photo albums, learning about their family history and evolving relationships with the outdoors, as well as the ongoing shift in their own relationship.‘
